Privacy & Policy

The relationship between a client and psychotherapist is confidential and protected by law. Verbal and written records cannot be shared without the written consent of the client, or the client’s legal guardian. Noted exceptions are as follows.
Duty to Warn and Protect

If a client discloses intent to harm self or other, I am obligated to inform the intended victim or legal authorities. If a client discloses a plan for suicide, I am obligated to notify legal authorities.

Abuse of Children and Vulnerable Adults

If a client suggests that they are abusing or neglecting a child or vulnerable adult, or that the child or adult is in danger of abuse or neglect, I am obligated to to notify legal authorities
